WHO ARE WE?

WABSE was founded, in 1991, by six black administrators and educators in the New Rochelle School District. We are an affiliate of the National Alliance of Black School Educators and our mission reflects the force of our efforts to enhance and facilitate the achievement of excellence in education for our children and to challenge any obstruction to their accomplishment to that end. WABSE is the first NABSE official affiliate of Westchester County to implement the mission of NABSE and to convene black educators and others, directly or indirectly involved in the educational process, to discuss, strategize and implement solutions to the unique problems they and their students face.

In keeping with our mission, we are soliciting for the annual scholarship 
     campaign. As you consider making a donation, "pass the hat" and ask your
     colleagues, friends and families to help our organization raise funds to 
     support graduating seniors throughout Westchester. Your generosity, no
     matter how small, along with the generosity of others, will assist them as
     they prepare for the financial burden of college. "Pass the Hat" today and
